Dana Berchman is an award-winning expert in marketing and communications with a gift for leading teams, connecting people, and telling the human story. An experienced innovator, public speaker and media professional, Dana is a proven expert at developing communication strategies, maximizing reach, creating digital roadmaps for cities and organizations, and delivering data-driven results with heart.

Dana spent 12 years as Gilbert, Arizona’s Chief Digital Officer building the Office of Digital Government from an idea to an industry best practice, where she managed all internal and external communications, marketing and digital government initiatives, government innovation, civic engagement and open data and storytelling efforts. Her accolades include a Rocky Mountain Emmy, Sharman Stein Award for Storytelling, Social Media Team of the Year, Civic Engagement Program of the Year, Communications Team of the Year, and Municipal Employee of the Year. She created and hosted the podcast, “Government Gone Digital” and a coding contest for junior high and high school students known as “SPARK App League” developed through partnerships with Arizona State University, Google and Waymo.

Prior to her time in the public sector she spent eight years working in New York City as a producer and director at MTV and as a producer and writer for Andrea Mitchell at MSNBC.
